The Reason for this Site

There not more than 100 people in the world who truly hate the Catholic Church, but there at millions who hate what they perceive to be the Catholic Church.

–Bishop Fulton J. Sheen

The Roman Catholic Church has long been the target of suspicion and hostility.  But how much of this is based on ignorance and prejudice and how much is the fruit of thoughtful consideration of the facts?

This site will separate the fact from fiction.  Without excusing or justifying wrongdoing, we will clarify official Catholic teachings and demonstrate that much popular opinion about Catholicism is based on misunderstanding and misinformation.  We will provide robust and lucid arguments for Catholic belief and practice.

We will offer a platform that provides content designed to inspire people to live a more devout and joyful Catholic life.  We will cover a variety of topics within the Catholic faith that will be presented to you in a dynamic in-depth text form.  This content will represent the one true Catholic faith taught by the Church itself.

It is not only our intent for non-Catholics to acquire an understanding of the Catholic faith but also for practicing Catholics to gain a greater understanding of their own faith.  I have so many non-Catholic friends that fail to understand the true teachings of the Church and some even seek answers from other non-Catholic resources, how reliable is that?  The blind leading the blind.  Check out our site for truthful answers.  I also have many Catholic friends that don’t live out their lives as the Church teaches.  Perhaps we can show them how to live a more devout Catholic life.

The information will be accurate  and derived from many sources but not limited to the Catholic Catechism, books and websites written by authors that are considered experts in Church history, faith and apologetics.  I will gather and post this information so you can comment, discuss, agree and disagree but rest assured the information will be what the Catholic Church teaches.

The content published on this page will be true and accurate.  If you find something that you feel is not true and it can be proved that I have made a mistake in posting or found to be inaccurate and not be what the Church teaches, please let me know and it will be taken down.  I will not take it down because you don’t like it yourself or you don’t believe it to be true, it must be proven that I misrepresented true Catholic Church teachings.  Please have patience with me.

The information presented here is actual and truthful to the best of the authors knowledge.  We want you to comment and leave us your thoughts.  However, we ask that you be nice, considerate and respectful to all.  If you leave a comment that is not nice, it could be deleted and not published, so be nice.

In summary, this is a site built to reflect the teachings of the Catholic Church.  It is meant to provide accurate and truthful information in hopes to educate all that visit on How Catholics Live.  Our intent is to be welcoming, mutual sustaining, open to growth and committed to building a faith community honoring the uniqueness to all, while embracing the message of the Gospel.  The Peace of Christ calls us to create a Christian community where God is found in the beauty and joy of our worship, and in our love for one another.

Please feel free to comment on this page or any page or post on this site, please remember to be respectful and nice.

God Bless

  1. Hi Bob, I was born and raised Catholic and unfortunately I grew away from the church for most of my adult life. Back in January 2012 Jesus found me and for that I am so so thankful. Now that I truly know the Lord, I want to tell you that I love your site and your purpose for it. Spreading the love of Jesus and making people aware of the Joy that they are truly missing out on is an awesome mission. I find that unfortunately many people feel that in order to lead a Christian lifestyle they need to give things up and while that maybe true to an extent, the peace and joy they get in return is so awesome. God Bless and keep up God’s great work!

    1. Jim, thanks so much for stopping by my site.  I have plans to grow it over time and add many more articles about How Catholics Live.

I am so glad to hear that the Lord found you.  I was also lost for about 30 years of my life, doing things I am not proud of but then I met this person that began to drag me while I was kicking and screaming all the way to the cross where I fell in love with the person that I found there.  Jesus.

Please come back to check us out in the future and watch us grow.  Comment on anything you like.

  2. I think that you have something here which the world could find interesting to read whether they are Catholics or not.
Me, I am not a Catholic, but do you know something, I am prepared to read what you have to say. Somewhere in the reading I will learn something and be able to apply it to my life.

    1. Thank you so much Roy, for the comment it means a lot to me.

It is my hope that someone will learn something from my site.  It is pure factual information about the Catholic Church teachings.  If someone finds information that is not true Church teaching, please let me know.  This information is to help those with questions about the Catholic faith.  There is no question that will offend me, so if you won’t get offended by the factual Catholic view of an answer, please ask away.

It is not my intent to argue the meaning of Bible versus or sit thru a Sunday school class on a faith or religion in order to convert me.  I don’t need converting, I am already at the place I want to be but I do like to learn about other beliefs, so let’s chat.

  3. Very interesting site — I am not Catholic but have always wanted to learn more about the religion and glad I found your site. I look forward to learning more and putting into practice the precepts of the religion. I have thought a lot about converting and maybe this is what i need to get going! Thank you for this valuable info!

    1. I am very glad you liked the information and that you learned something, that is all that I can hope for. Please come back anytime for more information. And as always, we love your comments and all are welcomed. Please keep all comment clean, nice and respectful.

  4. Great web page on the the catholic church. I too am Catholic and I agree with you that catholics and the teachings of the Church are misunderstood. There is a lot of bias in the world against the Catholic church. I think it is unfortunate that people feel this way. You have provided a lot of good information on the church. I hope a lot of people visit your website and are educated about the church. We need better Christians in the world to make this a better place to live. I personally never criticize ones religion. It does no one any good. I hope you have great success with your website and your BBQ business as well. Take Care!

    1. Thank you so much for commenting on my page.  I really do appreciate all comments.

I agree with you Mick, I think there are too many people that fail to understand the truth about the Catholic Church and her teachings.  Most people jump to conclusions and then pass on lies about the Church, it is certainly too bad.  I have a great friend of mine that will not come to me with his Catholic questions, always goes to his non-Catholic preacher for Catholic answers.  Makes no sense to me, go to a person that does not know Catholic teachings for a Catholic teaching.  The stupidity continues.

I do pray for great success for this site and my BBQ business as well.  It is true, I do make a living by owning and operating a BBQ food truck.  Burnt Offerings BBQ, A Christian Family Smoke Team.

Thanks for the comment.  Please come back.  My plans are to grow this site with many posts about the Church teachings.  Some to come soon will be Mary, Confession, Resurrection, Creation and many more.  Will also expose some of the biggest myths about the Church like, the Church Hates Women, Contraception, the Church Hates Gays, Homophobia, Same Sex Marriage…and more.  Please stay tuned.

  5. Congratulations on the decision to develop a website dedicated to the Catholic beliefs and practice.

I’m a Catholic, too and I have to say that I suffer whenever I hear people “crucifying” our church without really knowing what’s the truth and what’s not.

Of course, there have been a lot of mistakes throughout history – after all, we’re all humans – but there are many more positive aspects to this beautiful profound faith.

I’ll make sure to come back and visit your website and learn more.

    All the best.

    1. Thanks for coming by my site and leaving a comment and please come back anytime.

It is true, it sure hurts when someone that doesn’t know about the Church seeks us out and begins spewing trash.  I really don’ t like it myself.

Yes, the Church has gone thru some hard times and still is.  After all our Church was started with some poor fishermen that were sinners.  The Church is full of sinners.
